Hanoi 1

Free Western breakfast

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
President Palace
Ho Chi Minh Museum
Ngoc Ha Market
Temple of Literature, had tombstone looking things with the names of all graduates from that year engraved in stone, each on a tortoise's back
Vietnamese Women's Museum, tried on a head scarf and followed the instructions on how to put it on. Not too shabby!

Lunch: Sautéed morning glories in garlic with rice and beer

Food tour
This was an amazing tour and our guide was awesome! It was just me and another American from my hostel so it was like a private tour! Here is what we ate:
» Bun Cha - Rice noodles with grilled pork
» Che - Sweet soup (jackfruit, durian, banana)
» Street food - Raw water chestnuts, doughnuts
» Banh da ca - Red vermicelli with fried fish
» Street food - Sweet and salty grilled corn
» Egg coffee (like meringue and a little coffee, stirred and it tasted like a Frappuccino)
Ran into other American on Beer Street. Small world!
