Chiang Mai - Elephants

Lovely Thai mosquito bites all over my legs. Put tiger balm on them and it worked wonders! Breakfast of apple and taro custard filled pan bread.

American Standard brand toilet is NOT the American standard haha.

Panda Tours Elephant Camp & Mahout Training
Learned about the elephants.
All elephant camps chain elephants to contain them.
Bamboo sticks used to control elephants. Sticks with metal hook used only when elephants get aggressive or defiant.
Fed elephants mini green bananas, they can never eat enough!
Elephants kept thinking my green camera was a banana :-P
Got on and off elephant from its leg (commanded it to lift it's leg up while standing on it).
Reviewed commands.
Practiced commands on elephant.
Went for a walk around camp.
At one point my elephant was squeaking and the one behind me was growling. We didn't know why they were upset but the mahouts didn't seem fazed.
Bathed the elephants. Mine liked to submerge himself completely underwater. Others laid there and let us scrub them with tree bark sponges.
Made digestive treat for elephants: salt, palm sugar, fiber seeds, packed around a big ball of tamarind.
Lunch: spring rolls, massaman soup, sweet and sour tofu and veggies.
Monkey in cage would play with dog through the chain link. He would also hump a stuffed animal and put his little wrinkly penis in his mouth and just sit there haha.

Street Market for dinner.
1-minute pad see ew was awesome!
