On the road again

And off to Los Angeles we go!

We imagine the driver is a 16 yr old boy who was given this car by his older brother as a gift. Thanks, bruh!

Zzyzx. Really?

Passed the town of Calico. See their name up there on that mountain? You ain't Hollywoooooooooood!!

These weren't rainbows, but they were little spots of light in the sky, like when a glass prism is hanging in the window and you see rainbow spots of light everywhere.

We were an hour outside of LA when traffic started, which made getting there tiring. But at least there was a pretty sky!

Our winter trip to California spawned from the event of my cousin Matt's engagement. His fiancé, Van, is Vietnamese, so Los Angeles is a good meeting place for all the family to come together. This is the first time in quite a while that everyone from my dad's side has been able to be all together. We had a reunion in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2010, but a couple people weren't able to make it. So we are super excited that everyone is able to make it and especially since it is a celebratory occasion! This isn't the actual wedding, but it's the engagement ceremony. These are pictures from last night's dinner.

A mix of my cousin Matt's side of the family. We will meet Van's side of the family today!

What a great evening! I love my family :-D

And alas, Hootie is ready for bed.

Right now, it's Saturday morning, and we are heading to dim sum soon. Seems all I ever do with family is eat! ;) The engagement festivities are tonight, so there will be lots of family pictures in the next post! We're working on a family tree :)
